LinkedIn’s 3rd annual emerging jobs report has highlighted the 15 fastest-growing jobs in and the skills and cities most associated with them. The number of artificial intelligence and data science roles have continued to expand across nearly all industries. Robotics has made it on to the list for the first time ever and at least five of the jobs on the list include the word “engineer” in the title.
However, it’s not just high-tech roles that have seen the most job creation in the last five years. Product owners, customer success specialists, and sales development positions are also on the increase.
There is only one job on the list which doesn’t require a degree, which is behavioral health technicians. Hiring for this role has grown 32% a year since 2015, partly due to the increased insurance coverage for mental health.
LinkedIn puts Washington DC as the place which is attracting the newest tech talent, which includes cybersecurity, data science, and artificial intelligence. The tech hubs in San Francisco and New York are also continuing to attract talent due to the lower costs of living and increased remote work opportunities.
