ESPC19 2nd-5th December

Some are getting excited and preparing for Christmas, others are gearing up for ESPC19. With just days to go, Prague is getting ready to host Europe’s premier gathering of SharePoint, Office 365 and Azure communities. This conference is all about speed and how you can use it to get ahead of the game.

This article is going to highlight some of the exciting events to look forward to, as well as some of the key speakers, workshops, and awards. There is also a dedicated section for women in the tech industry. Unlike many other tech conferences, ESPC19 also offers free educational resources online.

Microsoft

Microsoft has a massive presence at ESPC19. There will be over 25 sessions presented by the Microsoft Product Teams. You will learn about the incredible products around now, the products that can be seen in the future, and find out about what opportunities may lay ahead in your career.

Jeff Teper, the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Office, One Drive, Sharepoint, and Office Media Group, will inform us on intelligence in the workplace. You will also find out about new virtual machinery.

Microsoft sessions include talks on security and compliance and the development of bots, to name just a couple. Speakers include a diverse range of people from many departments in Microsoft.

Azures

Azure has separated its session levels; Level 200, Level 300, and Level 400. For a full list of the Azure sessions per level, you can click here.  There are 40 in-depth sessions spread across the five days, each with unique learning experiences. It also offers opportunities for networking during breaks and social events where there will be a chance to meet Azure developers, IT experts and share ideas and knowledge.

While you are planning the sessions to attend, look out for speakers including Vishwas Lele, Microsoft Regional Director, USA, Thorsten Hans, MVP of Thinktecture AG, Germany, and Elio Struf, MVP of Valo Intranet, Belgium, again, just to name a few.

Diversity and Inclusion

It’s awesome to see this topic in an industry where diversity is so necessary yet so lacking. Karuana Gatimu and Heather Newman are back this year with three workshops. Tuesday’s workshop is on leadership, Wednesday’s is all about how to network, and Thursday’s workshop topic is mentoring. All three workshops are there to work on our soft skills, to develop strong connections and to gain confidence.

European SharePoint, Office 365 & Azure Community Awards

This conference allows participants to take part in competitions. In this case, it’s not just about winning. It’s about getting new and exciting brand names out there. Here are the main categories:

  • Most Innovate SharePoint Solution
  • Best Management Solution
  • Best Azure Solution
  • Best Intranet/Extranet Solution
  • Best Social Strategy
  • Best Community Contribution

The full list of the finalists has been published, and the winners will be announced on Wednesday.

ESPC19 has more than 140 sessions, with 6 keynotes and over 120 speakers. Attendees will hear about things like Cosmos DB, SharePoint Framework, AI, Security and lots more. Aside from the industry’s leading exposition, it’s also a great way to network with at least 2500 attendees. There are prices to suit everyone and you can buy your tickets here.
